Hello Earth lovers! Do you know what day is coming up? Earth Day! It's a super important day when people all around the world celebrate the planet we live on and try to make it a better place. This year, Earth Day is on April 22nd, and I'm so excited to tell you all about it!
First of all, did you know that our planet is in trouble? There are lots of things happening that are making it harder for animals, plants, and humans to live here. For example, the air is getting more polluted, the ice at the North and South Poles is melting, and lots of animals are losing their homes. It's really sad, but there's something we can do about it!
That's where Earth Day comes in. On this special day, people all around the world try to make a difference and help the planet. Even small things like turning off the lights when you leave a room or bringing your own reusable water bottle to school can make a big difference!
- Here are some other things you can do to help:
- Plant a tree or some flowers in your yard or at your school.
- Pick up litter in your neighborhood or at a park.
- Turn off the water when you're brushing your teeth or taking a shower.
- Walk, bike, or take the bus instead of asking your parents to drive you everywhere.
- Learn more about animals and their habitats and what you can do to help protect them.
If you're a kid like me, there are lots of things you can do to help the planet on Earth Day! For example, you can organize a clean-up with your friends or family in your neighborhood or at a local park. You can also start a compost bin in your backyard to help reduce waste or make a bird feeder to attract birds to your yard. Another fun thing to do is to create art using recycled materials, like making a robot out of cardboard boxes or a mosaic out of old magazines. Whatever you do, remember that every little bit helps, and you can make a difference!
But we're not the only ones who can make a difference! The government and companies can help too. They can make rules to help protect the planet, like not letting people litter or making sure that factories don't pollute the air and water. You can even write a letter to your local representative or the president to ask them to make better rules to protect the Earth.
To celebrate Earth Day, I created a new collection called Glow and Sow! Each candle comes with a packet of seeds to plant in the vessel after you've burned through the candle. It's a great way to repurpose your vessel! I hope you love the collection as much as I do!
Let's make this Earth Day the best one yet! Let's all do our part to protect the planet and make it a cleaner, healthier, and happier place for everyone and everything that calls it home. We only have one Earth, so let's take care of it!
xx
